Perenco DRC : visit of President Kabila to Muanda

President Kabila visited Muanda on 16th May, 2010, a year after his last visit to Perenco's operations in the area.  The itinerary included an inspection of the modernized Muanda airport, which , with the support of Perenco, has now been completed on time and within budget.  The President also visited Perenco's Operating Base, from which he took a tour in one of Perenco's work boats (see picture) to see the ongoing works at the Banana deepwater harbour.

The day was concluded with a presentation by Perenco's General Manager on the company's activities in the region, including an update on ongoing support of the local communities and Perenco's environmental protection programme.  Following the recent Cape IV Summit, where Larry Bottomley, exploration VP of Perenco, explained the group's growth strategy, the presentation to President Kabila allowed the company to further expand upon the possibilities for developing the oil & gas industry in Muanda,  and within the DRC as a whole.
